My First experience in Open Source

My Short Intro:-

Hi, i am Muhammad Suheer participant of Google Codein 2019 (the best competition to enlighten the importance of Open Source community in students). I started coding 1 year ago due to my great engrossment in it. I am a front end web developer with the little bit experience of React.I also have a little bit experience in python and django.

Why Google Codein is important for students?

Google Codein the best competition for the pre-university students as providing the opportunity for students to use their hidden talent to make their dreams true by entering into the world of Open Source . I think this competition is like a start up point for students in their journey of Software engineering or other platforms of IT. You can participate in competition here on GCI main web (

Google Codein 2019

My experience in Codein with Opensource.

I came to know about Google Codein about 2 months ago. My friend told me about it and asked me to participate in the competition. Before that i didn’t know what is Open Source and how it works then i start looking on things how the Open Source projects are working? and so on. Working with Open Source is a very stunning experience. I learned many things from the Open Source communities  that helps me to become a more meliorate developer. Because  Open Source   is publicly accessible, students can easily study it as they learn to make better software. Students can also share their work with others, inviting comment and critique, as they develop their skills.I love to work with opensource. All the opensource organizations are awesome but i choose to work with Fossasia because it suited me best. Fossasia projects suited me well because it’s projects are on web development and programming. I like to work on the projects of fossasia. The projects of this organization are very friendly and easy to understand.

What is Fossasia?

FOSSASIA is an organization developing Open Source software applications and Open Hardware together with a global community from its base in Asia. It is our goal to provide access to open technologies, science applications and knowledge that improve people’s lives. We want to enable people to adapt and change technology according to their own ideas and needs and validate science and knowledge through an Open Access approach. FOSSASIA was established 2009 by Hong Phuc Dang and Mario Behling. We organize and participate in conferences, meetups and code camps. The annual FOSSASIA Summit in Singapore is one of the top tech events in Asia. Other summits take place in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and India. FOSSASIA also runs a number of coding programs such as Codeheat. Please join us and start contributing to our projects, participate as a coder, designer, hardware developer or event organizer, become a sponsor of projects and events or support us by buying Open Tech products on the FOSSASIA store .

My Favorite project of Fossasia?

My Favorite project of fossasia is SUSI.AI. It is an intelligent Open Source personal assistant. … The core of the assistant is the  SUSI.AI  server that holds the “intelligence” and “personality” of  SUSI.AI . The Android and web applications make use of the APIs to access information from a hosted server. The link to the project Repository ( ). I am working hard to contribute in fossasia because this is the way to learn from them and contribute them.

Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it
